In addition, professional awning installation by your markilux specialist partner also takes the respective climatic conditions into account: In regions where there is likely to be a lot of wind, only awning models with the appropriate wind stability will be installed.

Installing
folding arm awnings

The markilux folding arm awnings are characterized by a high degree of flexibility when it comes to installation. Many models can be fitted to the wall, rafters or ceiling.

  • Wall mounting: Wall mounting is the most common way of installing a folding arm awning. Fasteners are inserted into the surface and the awning is screwed on tightly. If the awning is to be attached to an insulated façade (thermal insulation system), special fasteners are used to prevent the formation of thermal bridges. Wall mounting is available for all markilux folding arm awnings.
  • Roof and ceiling mounting: If it is not possible or practical to attach the patio or balcony awning to a wall, there is also the option of attaching an awning to the ceiling or roof. Special brackets are attached directly to the ceiling. Attachment to rafters is also possible for many models, provided they are load-bearing.
  • Recess mounting: For a limited installation space, recess mounting is an option for some balcony and patio awnings. In this case, the awning is recessed into existing or newly created niches and thus blends in visually with its surroundings when retracted.
  • Clamp mounting: This type of mounting is characterized by its uncomplicated installation, ideal for rented apartments or places where structural changes are undesirable. This innovative installation solution is currently available exclusively for the markilux 900 model. The awning is clamped between the floor and ceiling or the top of the balcony using clamping columns, which enables a fixed and secure installation with fewer holes than conventional methods. This method allows flexible and reversible installation that still provides stable sun protection.

of pergola awnings

markilux pergola awnings combine robust sun protection with elegant design. However, perfect function and durability depend largely on correct installation. We offer various installation options to meet your individual needs and adapt the installation to the local conditions in the best possible way.

  • Wall mounting: With wall mounting, the robust construction of the markilux pergola awnings is attached directly to the façade of your building. This method offers very stable and secure anchoring, as the forces are transferred directly into the building structure.
  • Ceiling mounting: In situations where wall mounting is not possible or desired, the pergola awning can also be mounted on a stable ceiling structure. This is the case for covered terraces or balconies, for example.
  • Roof mounting: Roof mounting, often a specialized version of wall mounting, allows the pergola awning to be attached directly to the rafters or the roof structure. It is particularly suitable for structural conditions where conventional wall mounting is difficult or impossible.
  • Awning installation with weight ingboxes: If the pillars of an awning system cannot be fixed to a foundation, some models also offer the option of using weighting boxes. These anchor the free-standing awning firmly to the ground. To ensure a solid base, the metal boxes are filled with gravel sand.

markilux above-glass and under-glass awnings offer customized sun protection for conservatories, patio roofs and glass extensions. Choosing the right type of installation is crucial for optimum functionality and durability. We explain the differences and advantages of over-glass and under-glass installation.

  • On-glass installation: Are you looking for optimum sun protection for your conservatory or patio roof? With on-glazing installation, we place your markilux awning directly on the glass surface. This type of installation is ideal if you prefer an unobstructed view inwards or if structural conditions do not permit under-glass installation. Your advantage: the sun's rays are intercepted before they hit the glass, so that your interior remains pleasantly cool.
  • Under-glassinstallation: Enjoy a perfect indoor climate under your glass roof with a markilux under-glass awning. With this type of installation, the awning is fitted directly below the glass surface. This means double protection: your awning fabric is protected from the weather and your conservatory remains pleasantly cool even on hot days. In addition, coarse soiling is kept away from the fabric. So you can sit back, relax and enjoy the sunny days.

Are you dreaming of flexible shade solutions that are independent of your house façade? The freestanding awning systems markilux markant, markilux syncra and markilux planet open up completely new possibilities for designing your favorite outdoor space. Whether in the middle of the garden, on the roof terrace or by the pool - we offer various installation types to meet your individual requirements.

  • Concrete foundations: The most stable and secure method of anchoring your freestanding awning. Concrete foundations are poured into which the posts of the awning structure are firmly anchored. This ensures maximum wind stability and a permanent installation.
  • Wall connection: For some freestanding models, especially if they are placed close to a house wall, a wall connection can serve as an additional or primary attachment. In this case, one side of the awning construction is firmly anchored to the house wall, providing additional stability.
  • Weighting boxes: A flexible solution if fixed foundations are not desired or possible. The awning posts are inserted into special boxes that are filled with heavy material such as gravel or sand. This provides sufficient weight and stability, but also allows the awning to be repositioned more easily if necessary (depending on the model).

markilux window awnings not only provide effective sun protection and glare protection for your windows, but also make a significant contribution to energy efficiency and living comfort. To ensure that your new window awning perfectly matches your structural conditions, you can choose from a variety of installation options.

  • Wall mounting: The most common type of installation, where the awning bracket is attached directly to the façade above the window. Provides a stable and unobtrusive solution.
  • Recess installation: With this type of installation, the awning bracket is fixed in an existing window recess or reveal. Enables a particularly wind-protected and visually integrated installation.
  • Ceiling mounting: Here, the awning bracket is mounted below a ceiling or roof overhang. A suitable option if it is not possible to fix it directly to the wall above the window.
  • Distance mounting: In this variant, the awning is mounted at a certain distance from the window reveal or façade. This may be necessary to bridge projections or to achieve a special visual effect.
  • Pillar mounting: In special cases, such as conservatories or glass façades without continuous wall surfaces, the awning can be attached to existing pillars or load-bearing elements.
