Face fixture, top fixture, clamp fixture or roof fixture - these are just some of the options for fusing markilux awnings. The possible fixture type depends not only on the architectural conditions of your patio or balcony, but also on the awning model selected.

In addition, the respective climatic conditions are also taken into account during professional awning fixture by your markilux specialist dealer: In regions where there is likely to be a lot of wind, only awning models with the appropriate wind stability will be installed.

You will find the right awning for every installation situation in the large markilux range. You are also welcome to contact your regional specialist awning dealer directly to find out how you can have your new markilux awning installed.

Installing
folding-arm awnings

The markilux folding-arm awnings are characterised by a high degree of flexibility when it comes to fixture. Many models can be installed on the face, rafters or top fixture.

  • Face fixture: Face fixture is the most common way of installing a folding-arm awning. Here, fixture materials are inserted into the substrate and the awning is firmly screwed in place. If the awning is to be attached to an insulated façade (thermal insulation system), special fixture materials are used to prevent the formation of thermal bridges. The face fixture is available for all markilux folding-arm awnings.
  • Roof and top fixture: If the fixture of the patio or balcony awning to a face is not possible or practical, there is also the option of attaching an awning to the ceiling or roof. Special brackets are attached directly to the top. Fixture to rafters is also possible for many models, provided they are load-bearing.
  • Reveal fixture : Reveal fixture is an option for some balcony and patio awnings if the installation space is limited. In this case, the awning is recessed into existing or newly created niches and visually blends in with its surroundings when retracted.
  • Clamp mounting: This fixture type is characterised by its uncomplicated installation, ideal for rented flats or places where structural changes are undesirable. This innovative installation solution is currently available exclusively for the markilux 900 model. The awning is clamped between the floor and the top or top of the balcony using clamp-in posts, enabling a fixed and safe installation with fewer holes than conventional methods. This method allows a flexible and reversible fixture that still provides stable solar protection.

markilux pergola awnings combine robust solar protection with elegant design. However, perfect function and durability depend largely on the correct fixture. We offer various installation options to fulfil your individual needs and optimally adapt the fixture to the local conditions.

  • Face fixture: With face fixture, the robust construction of the markilux pergola awnings is fixed directly to the façade of your building. This method offers very stable and safe anchoring, as the forces are channelled directly into the building structure.
  • Top fixture: In situations where face fixture is not possible or desired, the pergola awning can also be mounted on a stable ceiling structure. This is the case for covered terraces or balconies, for example.
  • Roof mounting: Roof mounting, often a specialised variant of face fixture, allows the pergola awning to be attached directly to the rafters or the roof structure. It is particularly suitable for structural conditions where conventional face fixtures are difficult or impossible.
  • Awning installation with ballast boxes: If the posts of an awning system cannot be fixed to a foundation, it is also possible to use ballast boxes for some models. These anchor the free-standing awning firmly to the ground. To ensure a solid base, the metal boxes are filled with gravel sand.

Fastening options
for glass canopies and conservatory awnings

markilux above glass and underglass awnings offer customised solar protection for conservatories, patio roofs and glass canopies. Choosing the right fixture type is crucial for optimum functionality and durability. We explain the differences and advantages of overglass and underglass fixtures.

  • On-glass installation: Are you looking for optimum solar protection for your conservatory or glass canopy? With above glass installation, we place your markilux awning directly on the glass surface. This fixture type is ideal if you prefer an unobstructed view inwards or if structural conditions do not permit underglass installation. Your advantage: the sun's rays are intercepted before they hit the glass, so that your interior remains pleasantly cool.
  • Underglass installation: Enjoy a perfect indoor climate under your glass roof with a markilux underglass awning. With this fixture type, the awning is fitted directly below the glass surface. This means double protection: your awning cover is protected from the weather and your conservatory remains pleasantly cool even on hot days. In addition, coarse soiling is kept away from the fabric cover. So you can sit back, relax and enjoy the sunny days.

The fixture types
of our freestanding markilux systems

Are you dreaming of flexible shade solutions that are independent of your house façade? The freestanding markilux markant, markilux syncra and markilux planet awning systems open up completely new possibilities for designing your favourite spot outdoors. Whether in the middle of the garden, on the roof terrace or by the pool - we offer various fixture types to meet your individual requirements.

  • Concrete foundation: The most stable and safe method of anchoring your freestanding awning. Concrete foundations are poured into which the posts of the awning structure are firmly anchored. This ensures maximum wind stability and a permanent installation.
  • Wall connection: For some freestanding models, especially when placed close to a house wall, a wall connection can serve as an additional or primary fixture. This anchors one side of the awning structure firmly to the house wall, providing additional stability.
  • Ballast boxes: A flexible solution if fixed foundations are not desired or possible. The posts of the awning are inserted into special boxes that are filled with heavy material such as gravel or sand. This provides sufficient weight and stability, but also allows the awning to be repositioned more easily if necessary (depending on the model).

markilux vertical blinds not only provide effective solar protection and anti-glare protection for your windows, but also make a significant contribution to energy efficiency and living comfort. To ensure that your new vertical blind is a perfect fit for your structural conditions, there are various fixture types to choose from.

  • Face fixture: The most common fixture type, in which the awning bracket is fixed directly to the façade above the window. Provides a stable and unobtrusive solution.
  • Reveal fixture: With this fixture type, the awning bracket is fixed in an existing window recess or reveal. Enables a particularly wind-protected and visually integrated installation.
  • Top fixture: Here, the awning bracket is mounted below a top or roof overhang. A suitable option if no direct fixture to the face is possible above the window.
  • Stand-off mounting: With this variant, the awning is mounted at a certain stand-off distance from the window reveal or façade. This may be necessary to bridge projections or to achieve a special visual effect.
  • Pillar mounting: In special cases, such as conservatories or glass façades without continuous wall surfaces, the awning can be fixed to existing posts or load-bearing elements.
