Blinded
by the low sun?

Semi-cassette awning markilux 1600 with blue fabric cover and beige shadeplus over a terrace.

Low sun.
Problem: the sun is dazzling.

Even if we love the sun, it has its downsides: At times when the sun is not so high - e.g. in spring, autumn, morning or evening - the sunlight can create a glare profile. To ensure the best possible solar protection, you should therefore think carefully about what your awning should be able to do. Is it enough for the awning to intercept the sun's rays coming from above? Or does my area require additional protection from the afternoon and evening sun, which is lower down and can therefore shine onto the patio from underneath the awning?

But what is the best way to control the cover profile of the low sun? Quite simply: with awnings with additional solar protection. Because if the sun is blinding, you can achieve additional solar protection in no time at all. So think about the low sun before you buy your awning and not just when it's already shining in your face. Well equipped, you can enjoy your awning to the full from the very first second. But don't worry: even if you already have an awning and have only identified the problem after the fact, we can offer you solutions to put an end to the sun's cover profile.

What helps against low sun?
Awnings with additional solar protection.

What can you do if the sun is creating a cover profile? Can markilux awnings be fitted with additional solar protection? Can I protect my patio from the sun all round? These questions are easy to answer. All our awnings can be equipped or supplemented with additional solar protection: either directly integrated into the model or as a combination of different awning types, such as a combination of pergola awning and vertical roller blind.

Discover the options to protect against the sun's cover profile below.

  • shadeplus

  • Vertical roller blinds

  • markilux format

  • markilux 790 side screen awning

markilux shadeplus

With shadeplus - the awning in the awning - you can achieve as much shade as you want, whatever the position of the sun. Without adjusting the angle of pitch of the awning, you can simply extend shadeplus to the desired shade depth. The fabric cover of our shadeplus is weighted with a profile. With this perfect solar protection, which is also extra privacy, you can create a cosy spot outdoors. It blocks out the sun during the day and keeps out the cold in the evening. In contrast to awnings, where the "more-shade effect" is achieved by adjusting the angle of pitch, the full room height is maintained under a markilux awning with shadeplus - a "more-room effect" is thus achieved.
