Even small balconies can be transformed into a place of peace and retreat with the right graceful awnings. Which awning model is best depends on the requirements and the location. In addition to classic folding-arm awnings, clamp awnings, vertical systems or pergola awnings can also be considered. Additional features such as shadeplus extend the protection, creating shade even when the sun is low in the sky.

Added value and advantages
of the solar protection solution for the balcony

Different awnings for the balcony

Every balcony is different: size, orientation, floor and shape are just some of the factors that need to be taken into account when choosing an awning. In addition to these factors, there is also your personal taste in terms of colour and design. This results in very individual requirements for your solar protection.

The following awning types and models provide shade on the balcony.

Balcony clamp awning.

In many cases, balcony owners are tenants of flats and therefore have special requirements when it comes to solar protection. As a tenant, you are somewhat more restricted in your choice, as the installation often has to be authorised by the landlord or property management. Interventions in the building fabric should be minimised at best. The tenant is also usually interested in the solar protection being easy to remove. In the event of a move, it can then be easily taken with them. The markilux 900 fulfils all these requirements. The clamping mechanism makes fixture extremely easy and the clamp awning can be removed and moved with the tenant if required. It is characterised by its high quality and customisability. In addition to the three standard frame colours, the frame colour can also be given a different colour on request. Together with the awning cover, this creates a wide range of combination options for customised design.

Folding-arm awning balcony.

Small, discreet models are often ideal for balcony awnings. Thanks to their filigree appearance, the awning blends in with the balcony design. Without appearing bulky, even small awnings provide sufficient shade. Open folding-arm awnings are particularly suitable for balconies with tops or eaves. This means that the awning technology and awning fabric remain intact for a long time, even without a cassette.

Pergola balcony.
Extensive shade.

Even large balconies and roof terraces need solar protection to make them a pleasant experience even in the height of summer. The large-area protection creates a large shaded area that not only protects the outdoor area. The neighbouring interior rooms are also kept cool. Depending on the structural conditions, a flexible fixture with ballast boxes can be selected.

Awnings for extra privacy on balconies.

Balcony and extra privacy is an important topic, because nobody wants to give up their privacy. The markilux side elements and the side screen provide the balcony with extra privacy - either permanently or flexibly extendable as required. The markilux format side elements can be raised, for example, while the markilux 790 side screen can be extended to the side. The awnings therefore not only offer extra privacy, but can also be used as wind protection. In addition to the side elements, vertical roller blinds can also be used as extra privacy on the balcony.
