Features and equipment options for open awnings
Similar to the markilux full cassette awnings, a large selection of optional and model-dependent equipment is also available for our open awnings. For example, you can also order your custom-made open folding-arm awning in an electric version with a (radio) motor and various remote controls and sensors. Wall, rafter or ceiling mounting is possible for the open markilux awnings.
Installation and fixture types of open folding-arm awnings
Different buildings require different ways to install awnings. If the house has a roof projection, we recommend ceiling mounting. Thus, the awning is installed directly under the ceiling and is therefore not directly exposed to environmental influences. Other houses, on the other hand, do not have an overhang under which an awning can be installed. In this case, wall mounting is often an option. If you want additional protection for your wall-mounted open awning, an aluminum protective roof is the right addition. This gives the fabric cover protection from dirt and moisture.
Areas of application: Terrace awning and balcony shading
Due to the different product characteristics of the open awnings, the models are suitable for various applications. Whether as a manual awning or electrically operated, they provide shade for large and small terraces in the garden, on the balcony, the roof terrace or in combination with the markilux syncra also on open space.
In addition to shading large areas, narrow installation environments can also be equipped with sun protection. For areas with a smaller width than the draw, some of the open folding-arm awnings can also be configured as a stretch version. A special folding arm technology allows the folding arms to cross over, making minimum widths feasible. This means that even small terraces, balconies or niches do not have to do without a markilux awning.

Are all open awning models manual awnings?
Standard configurations of open models are manual awnings, operated by winding handle. On request, a (radio) motor can be integrated.
